Poil de Carotte plot
Poil de Carotte (Carrot Hair) is the nickname given by his mother to an unlucky boy. For him, family is a group of people stuck together. Who cares if his brother Félix steals money from their parents for the singer of a honky-tonk band? The tenderness he receives from little Mathilde and the affection of the helper Annette can never compensate for his mother's dislike and his father's indifference. Despite this, father intervenes when Poil de Carotte contemplates suicide. He eventually takes his son by the hand and a friendship develops that brings comfort to the boy who thought he was the disgrace of the family.
