"Sometimes what's in your head isn't as crazy as you think."
Sixteen-year-old Craig (Keir Gilchrist) is overwrought by the stress of being a teenager. He is admitted to an institution where he ends up in the adult ward by closing the youth ward. He quickly becomes friends with Bobby (Zach Galifianakis), who becomes his mentor and protector. Craig is attracted to his peer Noelle (Emma Roberts) there. When he's imposed a minimum stay of five days, Craig is supported by friendships inside and outside the institution and he learns more about life, love and the pressures of growing up.

Quite a nice movie, but all the time I had the feeling that the movie was mainly constantly trying very hard to be that nice new quasi-casual 'indie movie' with all the standard stuff that comes with it, when it really wasn't . Also really light and easy. Without content is again just too much said, but it is really very easy. Therefore tend to max 3. But that also feels crazy when I look at which pulp I give like 3 stars while this is slightly better. I think.
3.5 then. I wanted a light snack tonight and I got it. It was entertaining and cute. Maybe even 3. Hmmmms.

A comic drama with more potential than it gets. The story isn't bad with underlying a teenager with mental health issues. The film avoids something to bring out all the clichés of a psychiatric center. And at the same time it shows depression in a light-hearted way. The film could have been a bit more spicy with a bit more black humor. You can see it under the surface here and there.
Keir Gilchrist is not a bad casting in itself, but he will not win prizes with this. Fortunately, the supporting roles dress it up a bit, but there too nowhere memorable. The film is more than just a teenage comedy and after the film I was left with a good feeling.
