A rich woman, Raffaela, and her friends take a boat trip on an expensive yacht in the Mediterranean. The captain of the boat, Gennarino, is a communist who does not particularly appreciate Raffaela's behavior and character. When Raffaela wakes up one morning, her friends find they have landed somewhere. She orders Gennarino to take her there too, but the boat is shipwrecked and they wash up on an island. They have to pass the time there together, but it soon becomes apparent that the roles on the island are reversed.
