Mediocre film, which is mainly brought down in terms of level by the not too strong acting and the weak last half hour.

Brittany Murphy does not excel in her last role. She plays moderate to weak and lacks any kind of conviction in her role. That in itself is a shame, because despite the fact that there are several films with a kind of scenario like this, the first part is certainly not bad. Visually they play with the security cameras and in terms of scenario they know how to make it quite exciting. In my opinion the story could go both ways, but after an hour they still went a third way and it became clear how everything was going. That was actually much too early, because because of this it was also immediately done with any form of tension and from that moment Abandoned collapses like a plum pudding.

The ending is very poorly developed, full of clichés, unbelievable moments and without tension. In the end, this ensures that Abandoned leaves you with an unsatisfied feeling, despite the nice start.

1,5*

Very below average in just about every way, not to mention the continuously annoying soundtrack. A film that is also quite derailed. Murphy was clearly used here as a crowd puller.

Acting performances are not too good, but the culprit of this mediocre work is mainly the director. On moviemeter, this is his best movie (not counting movies with 5 or fewer votes). Given the high number of films that this director makes per year (with 8 in 2012 as a record), it is just assembly line work.

1.5 star.

Messy film about a young woman who loses her boyfriend in a hospital. A thriller that fails to get really exciting. The penultimate film of Brittany Murphy, who died young, is not exactly a gifted actress, but she has better films to her credit.
