"Hamburg, Germany. 1963. Peter Miller is going inside the dreaded Odessa. More than a few people hope he doesn't get out... ever."

Freelance journalist Peter Miller gets hold of the diary of an old Jewish man who committed suicide. He immediately starts an investigation against an SS captain, who was in charge of a concentration camp in Riga, Latvia during the Second World War. This is how Miller comes into contact with Odessa, a powerful secret organization of ex-SS men, and the Israeli secret service. As the journalist digs deeper, he makes more and more mind-boggling discoveries.

Beautiful, great and also an exciting film of more than 2 hours that leads us and probably also the other viewer (s) fascinated by the story.

It was actually not noticeable that the film is now more than 40 years old. Image and sound quality were excellent with us on the entire set. As usual I have again given myself quite a bit to the arrogance of the German and have had my prejudice wonderfully confirmed. The arrogant German SS captain who oppresses the people in captivity and even introduces his superiors to his "will is law" and carries it through to the extreme.

A film you must see if you like this genre.

An 8!

Well, I usually skip movies with Nazi plots, etc., but with the wonderful The Day of the Jackal (also by Forsyth) still in mind I decided I just give it a try.

Big disappointment: really suffocating with clichés, bad dialogues and cardboard characters. Can't wait for me.

After more than 10 years I saw this print again, and it did not disappoint me. It is an exciting story about reporter Peter Miller (Voight) who accidentally gets into a traffic jam that puts him on the trail of war criminal Eduard Roschmann (Schell). And that brings an exciting ride, with the necessary danger to a satisfied denouement, nothing more. A nice thriller that looks nice, but sometimes very slow but yes the 70s right
