They Drive by Night plot
Brit Shorty Matthews has just been released from prison. He wants to reunite with his girlfriend in London as soon as possible. But when she arrives at her apartment, Shorty finds her lifeless in her bed. She appears to have been strangled. The police do not react very positively to his account of the dead body of his girlfriend, given his past. Shorty then enlists the help of his former girlfriend Molly O'Neill in an attempt to find the real killer. Both soon encounter the sneaky and creepy forensic criminologist Walter Hoover. Hoover seems to know more about Shorty's girlfriend's murder than he lets on.
