Tibet in Song plot

"Never forget the music in your heart"

Tibetans call their country an 'ocean of music and dance'. But due to Chinese rule, there are only a handful of musicians and teachers who can pass on the meaning of this expression to the next generation. The traditional Tibetan music heard in 'Tibet in Song' celebrates the importance of the family and the beauty of the country. But the film isn't just about music. 'Tibet in Song' also shows what fifty years of cultural oppression has had on China-controlled Tibet. Rare images of traditional Tibetan songs are interspersed with poignant footage of the start of the Chinese invasion and an account of the Dalai Lama's forced exile.
