One day, Sara is taken back to the hospital with an overdose and her partner blames Diego for her condition.

It was a reasonably enjoyable Spanish family drama, aka hospital drama. But not something that really grabs you right away. The story is decent here and there, but sometimes a bit far-fetched. The actors, on the other hand, are realistic. But this is a bit of a cliché. I did think Diego was very good, though.

A supernatural drama with some very strange directing choices. The script (spoiler: a man receives a gift that ultimately becomes a curse) seems lifted from a horror film, but here it's applied to a drama. The subplot involving Belén Rueda doesn't fit well into the film either. The quality is rather faltering, including in the script, direction, editing, and sound. The content is reminiscent of American and German TV dramas. The supporting characters are barely developed and unconvincing, such as the trainee doctor who follows the lead and constantly has to stare at everything with his mouth open.

The story of healing through the laying on of hands is also unconvincing. How can a film try to convince the viewer with something that's a scam? The direction certainly fails, and the film loses a lot of its power. Furthermore, the film initially seems to want to convey a message, but that attempt gradually abandons, ultimately leaving you with a bizarre story. It seems as if the director was trying to cram everything into the story haphazardly, hoping something would work.

Leaving aside the subplot with Belén Rueda, it's a film whose structure makes it compelling to keep watching, but ultimately, it disappointed me. A strange film. 1.5*

A miraculous story of a doctor who excels at healing his patients. The film builds slowly, and it takes a while before you truly grasp what's going on. It's not entirely believable, either. However, the film is cleverly constructed and the acting is excellent, so the viewer is truly drawn in. Towards the end, the film does raise more and more questions, but that's hardly surprising with such a story.

I'm curious to know what I'll think about it when I see the film again much later.
