Sensô to Seishun plot
Yuta Hanabusa is a car mechanic in Tokyo and his daughter Yukari is curious about what is going on with her Aunt Sakiko. Reluctantly, her father tells that Sakiko had lost her daughter during the bombing of Tokyo in World War II and that she could never come to terms with this. For forty-five years she waited for some time every day at a telephone pole, the only thing that survived the bombing and the last place she saw her little girl. After Sakiko's death, a Japanese woman with the Korean name Lee Soon-ik comes looking for her mother. Yukari wonders if it's her missing niece.
