Mohou-han plot
Tofu producer Yoshio Arima worries when his granddaughter Mariko doesn't return from a night out. Ten months later, Shinichi Tsukada, the lone survivor of a family drama, finds a severed arm in a shoulder bag in a Tokyo park. The killer calls a TV show in a distorted voice and declares that the bag belongs to Mariko, but the arm belongs to someone else. The same distorted voice calls Arima, sends him to a hotel bar for a meeting, and puts Mariko's watch in his mailbox during Arima's absence.
