A film with two faces.

The first scenes with Pacino are weak. A painful enlargement. Deep into the film, the level is questionable.

But eventually it happens... the grandmaster gets under your skin and the film starts to come alive. An ultimate reward for a long sitting. *3.5

Scent of a woman is a rock solid film without really skipping high marks. It is especially Al Pacino that stands out and takes the film to a higher level. As a retired senior military officer, he finds it difficult to let go of his past. Especially the fact that he has to go through life blind made him a sullen, bitter man. So much so that at one point he even considered ending it. Chris O'Donnell plays the insecure Charlie and his acting is now not really memorable, even faded, and sticks out attn Al Pacino. Frank Slade's monologues are great and he has an answer or opinion on everything in his own way.

The trip to New York is nice to follow and at times even very nice, such as the fantastic car ride with the Ferrari or the tango scene.
The other plot in which he is summoned as a witness to a student joke did not interest me in any way and I forgot about it during the moments in New York. Whether or not you click is overstated into a morally sentimental story.

All in all, a pleasure to watch, but the film certainly has its flaws. Thanks to Al Pacino still a narrow 3.5 *. Film has often been rehashed with a man with a disability who is saddled with an unknown blue.
