The Rainbow Warriors of Waiheke Island plot
On July 10, 1985, the Rainbow Warrior, the flagship of environmental organization Greenpeace, sank as a result of bombs placed by the French secret service. One of the permanent crew members lost his life. The attack was in response to Greenpeace's actions against the nuclear tests on the Mururoa atoll, which immensely influenced public opinion towards the tests.
