Wyoming plot
"ROUGH...ROARING...ROMANCE!"
Charles Alderson and his wife settle in Wyoming and soon form a lasting friendship with Thomas Jefferson "Windy" Gibson. Alderson's wife dies right after giving birth to daughter Karen. When she is a bit older, Charles sends Karen to Europe for an education. During the years that Karen is abroad, her father develops into a wealthy cattle baron. Karen returns to Wyoming just as it has declared itself an independent state. Karin finds that much of the land her father considers his own is now open to new settlers and that this leads to much hostilities. Glenn Forrester is Charles foreman and former lawyer, with whom Karen is in love. Glenn warns Charles against using force against the settlers. Duke Lassiter is a crafty dealer in stolen cattle who has an interest in a battle between the local ranchers and settlers and acts as the settlers' spokesperson. When Lassister kills Windy, Charles hires a band of outlaws. A war with the settlers seems inevitable.
