"Can we talk?"
Tom and Cheng Chai come from completely different family backgrounds, but have in common that they are both stubborn, underachieving students who have to cope with strict parents in a strict school system. Cheng Chai's father sincerely wants his son to succeed in life, but resorts to his fists when his son falls short of his expectations. Tom and his younger brother Jerry come from a wealthy family, but hardly see their overworked parents. When the family is finally together, their parents scoff at Tom and Jerry's shortcomings and each other's, before fleeing to the mobile phone again. This lack of communication will have serious consequences.
