De Viagraman plot
In 1998, the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer launched a pill that solved the age-old frustrations of a large group of men in one fell swoop: Viagra. In no time, the pill appeared to have a name recognition that was as big as that of Coca-Cola. Director Michael Schaap wants to show what happened to Viagra in those ten years. And especially what has happened to the modern man. Because it is no longer only older men who take the pill. At a Dutch beach party quite a few young men talk about their wish to spice up the one night stands with an endless erection. And more changed. Where the first television commercial was presented in a worn tone by presidential candidate Bob Dole, who said he suffered from the hitherto unknown condition Erectile Dysfunction, nowadays commercials appear that cheerfully propagate the marital bliss of the eight-hour erection. And that for only fifty euros for four pills.
