"The past is always present."

After an absence of 20 years, Ned Kendall reluctantly returns to his hometown as his father, whom he never got along with, is dying. Ned has brought his 21-year-old beautiful girlfriend Toni along as a distraction and to tease his father a little more. But alas, what Ned tried to prevent does happen, many memories from his painful early years come to the fore.
