"In the right hands, fear is the deadliest weapon of all."
After his family dies in a plane crash, a man concocts a complicated plan to get revenge on whoever is responsible. By pretending to be a criminal, he plans to get close to a certain tycoon, who has been approached by the culprits to help them recover the cargo from the lost plane.

Well, not quite there at all: a practically impossible plan, a number of, let's just say "pretty stupid" bad guys, a strange chase that seemed to have no end and an unsatisfying ending.
A lot of beautiful things were made in this area in the 70s, this was less so.

At the beginning, you get a very long police car chase after John Talbot in his red Ford Gran Turino, who has meanwhile kidnapped the lovely Suzy Kendall. You know Talbot wants to avenge his wife, child, and brother, who were killed by criminals. The revenge plan is too complex, which detracts from its credibility. Think of the long, exaggerated, and unnecessary car chase at the beginning of the film, where almost everyone is in on the plot, but also when the prisoner Talbot goes to inspect the oil rig at night. There are still some things in the film that seem illogical. Nevertheless, the film manages to entertain sufficiently, and the final scene is quite cool. 6/10

A bit retro with moderate action and a fantastic Ford Gran Torino chase. Newman plays a decent role as the "vengeant" who has a job to do. The film gradually builds to a somewhat tame finale, where the past is locked into the final moment from which there is no escape. Kendall is a natural beauty in this film. Great music, by the way. Easy to watch. 3.25*
