Shanghai Jiaqi plot

Ku's sixties have moved to America, but he has stayed behind in Shanghai and lives with the daughter of his former lover. His children go on a trip to Europe and temporarily send their twelve-year-old grandson to Ku. For the boy, life in Shanghai with a shared bedroom, outdoor toilets and communist teaching methods is a terrible culture shock.
