"You think you know the story."
Five twenty-somethings decide to spend a weekend in a remote cabin in the middle of the forest. It soon becomes clear that the five - three men, two women - have more on their plate than an idyllic getaway alone. Reading a spell from a diary leads to death and destruction and all kinds of bizarre consequences.

Ironically intended horror film. The Cabin in the Woods has an original approach, and the nod to the bloodthirsty and always craving for something new is not to be missed. The setup of Cabin is conventional, but the delightful roles of Jenkins and Whitford make it clear that there's something more going on than just teens being murdered one by one. The problem with the film is that the wink lacks some tension. That is compensated for by quite a bit of gore, and especially at the end when the elevator doors open and the madness breaks loose, it's fun.

Never before have I changed my voice from 8 years ago. From very negative 1.5 to positive 4.0.
I think I had a completely different expectation the 1st time and that's why I was so disappointed. Now for the second time and many years later I can appreciate the film much more. Strange how your vision/opinion can sometimes change. Because this rarely happens to me.
I enjoyed the movie much more now. I now also understand that this is really a different kind of horror film than you would normally expect. So surprisingly nice to have seen this film again. I can now accept more of what lies behind the story.
