Voulez-Vous Danser avec Moi? plot
Dentist Hervé takes refuge in a nightclub after an argument with his new wife Virginie. There he meets dance teacher Anita, and he spends the night with her. Unfortunately, her boyfriend takes spicy pictures of this to blackmail Hervé. When Hervé is subsequently accused of the murder of Anita, he confides in Virginie. Believing in his innocence, she investigates herself and decides to go undercover as a teacher at Anita's dance school.

A very lighthearted thriller with a wafer-thin plot. Even the beautiful Brigitte Bardot can't really save the film. The atmosphere is decent, but you miss the chemistry between the characters, and Bardot has done better. Not really recommended.

This is obviously not a serious crime film—the tone is too lighthearted for that—but it all works quite well nonetheless. Bardot gets to steal the show in between with her delightful, lighthearted femininity.
The plot is not special, but it is well-constructed and keeps you as a viewer in the dark until the very last moment.

Ugh, it is a whodunit—perhaps the most hackneyed film genre there is, and in this form far too lighthearted—or actually, I should just say farcical. BB acts quite well in itself, and especially much more 'mature' than in her earlier roles—but despite quite a few marketing claims that raise different expectations, I also found the 'oh-la-la' factor a bit stingy.
What can I say about it? It's not my kind of film, something like that.
