I've already seen The Machine Girl (3.5*) and Mutant Girls Squad (3*) before, and I really liked them. J-Sploitation seems to be a genre I like, and when I bought Mutant Girls Squad I took advantage of the 2 for 15 promotion in the Free Record Shop, I also picked up this Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl along. And tonight was the day, I was looking forward to it again.

Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl starts with a very cool opening scene where we see skulls being removed from living people, delicious gore. It is already very clear that the film focuses on humor in addition to gore and action. A kind that is not really my thing, because the Ganguro Girls and the wrist-cutting competition didn't make me move a muscle, because this was a bit too bland for me unfortunately.

The acting performances are unfortunately below par and the special effects are also somewhat disappointing, I must say. It's still fine in terms of gore, but unfortunately less 'gross' than The Machine Girl and Mutant Girls Squad. In addition, the atmosphere is sometimes not really there, and the whole love affair didn't really do much for me either.

Unfortunately, it is not all that, but luckily it all looks nice and this film does not get an extremely low rating.

Nice. A lot of craziness, a lot of blood, exaggerated acting, and bad special effects. The whole is reasonably entertaining, sometimes very bland, but because it is so far-fetched, it has something comical. The greatest strength behind this film is the soundtrack, at the most "dramatic" moments the most cheesy songs are played.

The vampire girl provides pleasant image filling; the moments when her mouth opens to the maximum are pretty creepy. Nice role, the character is quite laconic and direct, which also provides the necessary humor.

The topper in this genre remains for me Tokyo Gore Police, which is even crazier with some strange creations. This film can't match that, but it's still quite entertaining. 3*.

Hard to get through. It was certainly not my choice to watch this movie, but I had to because of a movie game. Of course I could have refused, but I didn't. And so I had to sit through every minute of this completely nonsensical movie. I actually don't really know where to start. About the terribly intrusive acting characters, or rather about the spasmodic attempts to turn every scene into something controversial. I have nothing against a bit of controversy, but if you're looking for it so emphatically that the movie seems to come from the mind of an edgy 14-year-old. I'm not thrilled about the bloodshed either. It is basically always the same, a red blood fountain that turns the screen red at lightning speed. The story around it is of course creative, but that is not that difficult if you cram everything into a single film. I could barely get through the movie, it's really not my thing. Now there are quite a few Japanese concepts within J-Splatter that seem interesting to me, will come again. However, these kinds of films make me less and less enthusiastic, but I know myself longer than today and there will probably be a film like this one day.
