"She wanted thrills --- and she found them in the dangerous hours before dawn!"
Texan journalist Julie Reynolds travels to New York City. She goes there to work undercover with a gang of gamblers. In this gang she meets her childhood friend Steve Walker, who recognizes her. Steve is still in love with her and wants to resume his old relationship with her. His mentor 'The Judge' isn't happy about this, but Steve is steadfast. The Judge wants to get rid of Julie and Steve and enlists the gangster Marty Connors to do this.
