Our Orange County Cavallari in a movie. Have to admit she's quite a hot girl, but she's better off acting. Story is too weak for words. Had a kind of smile on my face now and then, but nothing else to laugh about. All those American Pie wannabees fail time and again to make something where the chemistry between the main characters is just as good. 2 stars for the women, otherwise crap.

The third part of the series, which had a good one from Wilder with Ryan Reynolds in the first part. Successor The Rise of Taj was already considerably less in terms of level, and so was Freshman Year. Van Wilder is now portrayed by Jonathan Bennett , of whom I have never heard of, as a rather dull protagonist who does not offer a good interpretation of Van Wilder at all. The humor is constantly too bland and certainly not fun and the story is weak. The story contains another highlight with the character Kaitlin, but Van Wilder: Freshman Year doesn't really have anything more to offer.
