Behind the Rainbow plot

Documentary about the contemporary political situation, the dreams and the political reality of the ANC in South Africa. April 2009 there are new elections in South Africa. The viewer is taken through the recent political history of South Africa and zooms in on the internal power struggles, the challenges and problems the ANC faces as a ruling party. The various personalities united in the ANC have differing ideas about the future of their party and country. Conflicts in the party are therefore inevitable. The changing relationship between Thabo Mbeki and Jacob Zuma, two ANC leaders, is very similar to the process of change within the ANC and has many similarities with the transition from a liberation movement to a ruling political party. Their struggle threatens to tear the country and the ANC apart.
