'Une Vraie Jeune Fille' is the story of Alice Bonnard, from grade 4A in the high school for young girls in Saint-Sulvien, and is set during one of those summer months of the turbulent 1960s. Alice spends her holidays with her parents in the Landes. She is irresistibly attracted to Jim, a boy who works in her parents' sawmill, but is too scared and shy to tell him, convinced she doesn't even exist to him. She hangs around more and more around him, but the closer she gets to him, the harder she finds it to start a conversation...
