I thought this film... really well portrayed what depression actually is, and... it also offered a silver lining: how to deal with that annoying voice

For people who have ever suffered from depression, I think this film will remind them that that annoying thing... never goes away, but it's no longer as powerful as it once was.

Besides that, it wasn't the greatest film, but still... very well acted, I enjoyed it and that's why I gave it a 4.

A film about burnout and depression, starring Peter Van den Begin as a comedian whose job revolves around laughter, performance, and doing what's expected of him. The tears behind a clown. Beautifully captured by truly giving shape to the little voice inside, in this case Jeroen Leenders.

Everybody Happy may aim for stand-up comedy, but it also has a broader appeal. The concept is better than the execution. The actors are decent, but it's never truly convincing. Some storylines are a bit off, and the ending also stalls midway through the climax.

Not a bad film, but it's still a bit thin. A shame, because the idea is quite interesting.

Ralph Hartman (Peter Van Den Begin) headlines a comedy tour, but struggles to be funny because deep down he's utterly miserable. Of his colleagues, only Laura (Barbara Sarafian) realizes that Ralph is on the verge of collapse. A wonderful vehicle for the always-watchable Van Den Begin, and a brilliant performance for Sarafian. Well-written and powerfully directed by former film critic Nic Balthazar, it's a flop in its home country, Belgium.
