Jazz Is My Religion plot
This documentary offers a very personal meeting with writer, speed user, up-tempo poet and jazz DJ Jules Deelder. We follow Deelder on his journeys to jazz festivals, evenings when he plays jazz music for the public, and on his search for rare records. All this is interspersed with photo material from his private archive, fragments from TV programs and interviews with literary contemporaries such as Bart Chabot, Remco Campert, Simon Vinkenoog and the musicians Willem Breuker and Hans Dulfer who share his passion for jazz. Jules speaks candidly about his passion for jazz, friendship and drug use, poetry, his favorite artists and the up-tempo poet analyzes his love for life.
