Mijn Moeder, de Actrice Willeke van Ammelrooy plot

In this documentary by Denise Janzee, the filmmaker tries to get closer to her mother Willeke van Ammelrooy. Denise got to know her famous mother best through her movie roles. On set and on screen, she saw her mother cry, laugh and fight. At home, however, Willeke closed herself off when she was sad: "I only come out of my hole when I smile again. That's how I live in life." The only time Denise actually saw her cry was at the funeral of her father Leendert Janzee. He committed suicide when Denise was six years old. His decision was not unexpected, but his death nevertheless meant the ultimate loss for Willeke: she had wanted to let him live with her love.
