The Promise plot
"Empires fall. Love survives."
The film is set during the last days of the Ottoman Empire. A humble Armenian pharmacist named Mikael leaves his village to study in cosmopolitan Constantinople. Chris is an American press photographer who came to the country for geopolitics and is in a relationship with the talented Ana. When Mikael meets Ana, an attraction develops that will lead to rivalry between the two men. After the Turks join the war and join the Germans, the Ottoman Empire turns against ethnic minorities and everyone will have to find a way to survive despite mutual conflict.
