Center Stage: Turn It Up plot

The dancer Kate Parker, who learned everything from herself, has always wanted to perform with the American Academy Ballet. But when she's not accepted after an audition, she learns that it takes more than precision and perfection to be successful in the dance world. Turning 90 degrees, she heads to a hip-hop club, and with the help of a good-looking former hockey player, she may find the passion she needs to make her dreams come true.

I put this movie in front of it because I was not sure if I had seen it yet. I soon found out that I had seen it, but I didn't remember the story very well. I thought Center Stage was great, but Center Stage: Turn it Up is unfortunately not that great. The main character is my biggest irritation. She has a childish voice and her mouth has only one shape where you can see her teeth all the time. The actors in the movie don't all act equally great, but you can see that they are all professional dancers and they dance well. Most of the dances are not spectacular, but just like in the Step Up movies, the best is saved for the final production, which is also the most impressive here. Although the movie was ultimately fun to watch, you really shouldn't compare it to the first part and certainly not to the much better Step Up movies.
