dr. Clitterhouse is fascinated by working with criminal mindsets. In fact, his interest is so deep that he can best see criminals in action if he becomes one himself. While he tries to break into a safe at a party, an organized gang is planning to do the same. He joins the gang to watch them in action, but Rocks Valentine prefers him dead.

A doctor who is more or less obsessed with the psyche of criminals wants to find out the psychological makeup of criminals at all costs by becoming one himself.
Robinson seems perfect for the role of a clinical scientist who wants to understand the psyche of criminal behavior and he is prepared to go very far to find out.
Yet the film never gets as serious as you would expect ( especially if you have seen the ending ) and the film retains a certain lightness .
