Tiger in the Smoke plot
A murderer who escaped in England manages to reach the French coast. He finds a mysterious treasure buried there at a widow's mansion. The lonely widow is about to marry a man she doesn't really love. Then the widow suddenly receives mysterious photos, which suggest that her deceased husband is still alive. The frightened widow takes the photos to the police. When the police accompany the widow to her home, they find the escaped convict about to steal a rare and valuable Madonna statue.
