"REIGN-OF-TERROR...BY KILLERS AND VICE KINGS OF THE UNDERWORLD!"

Nightclub singer Lynn Brennon loses her husband Bill in a car accident. Shortly afterwards Lynn witnesses the murder of two narcotics officers, she has a nervous breakdown. The police believe that the car accident was a murder and that the other two murders have to do with it. Police suspect that Lynn's husband may have been involved in narcotics smuggling and also suspect her of involvement, especially when drugs are found in her apartment.

Until about half way through everything went as you would expect in this genre. However, the link between the title and the suddenly appearing "mysterious unknown" was immediately obvious, which was a bit of a letdown for me. Shame.
