When a police officer fails to arrest a wanted rapist at a construction site, he is found dead with an inexplicable grin on his face. Police Inspector Li and his colleague and girlfriend Peanut are assigned to investigate the case. The mystery surrounding the enigmatic death also piques the curiosity of some journalists. As their investigation progresses, they discover that a dark force is responsible for the murders.
