Dog Gone plot
A notorious diamond thief and his two dim-witted accomplices stop along the main road, where 12-year-old Owen watches them mistreat their dog. The boy intervenes and wants to give the dog something to drink, but he manages to escape into the woods. He helps the evil criminals in their search for the animal in the forest, but he leaves the men there. Owen finds the dog and they hide in his secret fortress, which is cleverly fortified with booby traps and defense mechanisms to fend off intruders. His fortress is built on top of a ridge where the so-called 'Madman of the Mountain' is said to live. Desperately, the gangsters try to find the dog, because through him they can get back five million in diamonds. Can a 12-year-old kid in a shabby fortress protect himself and the dog from three ferocious criminals?
