Too bad about the generally negative reactions on this page, although he does it overall with a 2.96 average here on mm. La Horde is really great zombie viewing food.

Notice a lot of negativity about the so-called dull and uninteresting beginning of the film. I can't agree at all. The ''raid'' in the apartment building somewhere in a slum in France immediately sets the tone of the film, namely gray and hard. The film has a wonderful mix between hard-hitting action (lots of guns 'n explosions) and pure zombie horror with some very tasty gore here and there.

The characters fit nicely in a movie like this and the acting is also excellent. The apartment building gives a nice isolated atmosphere and the shots of the burning, smoking city in the vicinity of the apartment also enhance the atmosphere. La Horde also maintains a more than good pace, which means that it never gets boring.

Very entertaining zombie flick with lots of action and some humor here and there. Too bad about the shitty ending in which the bitch, the most unsympathetic character, ''survives'' while she criminal Markudi, one of the more sympathetic characters, puts a bullet through his head.

Sad gang this. It all feels very blasé, doesn't really add anything to an already endlessly exhausted genre. Subpar slaughter, pompous butt music, odious editing, and a group of silly bastards (with that cocky bitch as the biggest irritation factor) wring the neck down on this production. And even for an unpretentious zombie movie, the logic is sometimes hilarious.

The only thing that made the film a bit manageable were the comic notes. My meager 1,5 * therefore almost exclusively go out to the militant grandfather. It's ridiculous that he didn't come out as the winner, instead of that shrew. .

1.5*.

When revised, this zombie work suits me a lot better than when it was released. Okay, the plot is very scanty and a little too much attention is paid to the mutual tensions between the main characters, but at crucial moments the film manages to convince. The desolate location is well chosen, the acting can certainly continue and the action is nice and bloody. The grim, hopeless atmosphere completes it in style. Still not a high flyer, but doable.
