Rumpelstilzchen plot
Young King Michael meets the beautiful miller's daughter Marie on a journey. He falls in love with Marie and wants to take her as his wife. But his money-hungry prime minister kidnaps the miller's daughter and imprisons her in a tower where she must turn straw into gold, as her boastful father had previously proclaimed. A little man, Rumpelstiltskin, visits Marie in her dungeon and performs a miracle, turning the straw into spun gold. But Rumpelstiltskin asks for Marie's firstborn child in return for his labour. In her desperation, she promises that. After a year a child comes and the male comes to claim his "wages"...
