Intrusions plot

Pauline, a wealthy heiress, is reluctantly married to Francois, one of her father's employees, who had impregnated her. A few months later, when her husband says he wants to leave her, Pauline is furious and lets him know over the phone that she might kill him. Alexis Target, a laborer who works in her house, overhears this and decides to lend her a hand. Or did he already know Francois beforehand?
