Radeloos plot

In Radeloos Yara has had a crush on Paco for a while, who goes to school with her and plays records at parties as a DJ. But Paco has a thing for Floor and doesn't like her. Could it be because she is too fat? Yara's mother wants her daughter to become a fashion model, but Yara actually wants to go to art school. She decides to lose weight by eating less. In this way she kills two birds with one stone: now she can become a fashion model and Paco may find her beautiful enough. But the less Yara eats, the worse she feels. Her friend Sterre is very concerned. And Paco? Maybe he doesn't care about Yara because he has his own problems...

For a Dutch youth film seriously below average!!

Bad and ridiculous acting....it seemed like a parody at times .

I always think Dutch films in this genre are reasonable, but this one is too bad!!

Carry Slee.

Writer of children's books aimed at ages like 12 to 15 years I think. The topics covered in her adaptations are still relevant, but I actually have the feeling that the makers don't fully understand what the world of today's children looks like. The boomer content is very high.

Can still praise the acting of the children, who all go for it and try to make something of it. The adult actors are different. It mainly depends on the role. The somewhat flatter roles are mediocre (Soutendijk) but the more eccentric figures (Hulst) are a bit better. All in all, it's not the best work, but with scripts and characters like this, it's hard too.

For me, it's mostly a mystery how the kids in this movie lead these kinds of lives. It often feels like the kids should have secretly been 5 years older. I just couldn't take such an alcohol problem or modeling career seriously despite the absolute possibilities. The film itself also seems to know this, because the subplot with the evil teacher that is thrown through it contradicts the more mature parts. It doesn't fit at all.

It's a pretty ridiculous event. For schools it will of course be material that the children can easily access, but in the meantime they have mainly become remarkable things. Can't believe this is still being swallowed. Brought up by some enthusiastic acting, but otherwise really boring on a lot of fronts. Wouldn't it be nice to see Kees Boot again, when he once again plays a leading role? I hope so.
