"Some athletes stand for more than gold"
This documentary follows the media frenzy leading up to the 2014 Winter Olympics, as LGBT athletes and activists criticize Russia's anti-gay laws. Gay Olympians were faced with a difficult choice: protest to defend the rights of their Russian comrades or enter the competition silently. Gay propaganda is banned in Russia. That's why director Noam Gonick made the images in secret, mainly to protect the athletes.
