Les Violons du Bal plot
Autobiographical story of the director's youth set during the Second World War. German soldiers invade houses and search everything. Jews are arrested. Michel's father is mobilized and his mother has to flee France, but the envy of some compatriots makes it difficult for her. The children are going to stay with their grandmother. She tries to explain to them the futility of anti-Semitism.
