Bread and Roses plot
"The Balance of Power Is About to Change"
Maya is an illegal Mexican immigrant who moves in with her married sister Rosa in Los Angeles. With Rosa's help, she gets a job as a cleaning lady. At her work, Maya stumbles upon Sam by accident. This turns out to be a trade union activist who wants to make the cleaners aware of their weak position and to fight with them for the right to organize and for better working conditions. Inspired by the “Justice for Janitors” movement.
