Prairie Fever plot

Preston Biggs had been sheriff in Clearwater. That was before his wife died and Biggs started drinking. He now fights a lot in the saloon and has to work behind the bar to pay for the damage done to the saloon. Current Sheriff Logan makes Bigss an alternative offer to pay off his debts. He has to escort three women suffering from 'prairie fever' - a local term for the mentally disturbed - to Carson City and put them on a train there. The three women are Lettie, who wanted to kill her husband; Abigail, the young bride, for whom life on the prairie is too hard and the strict religious farmer Blue, who has had a traumatic night. It promises to be a tough journey for Biggs, who agrees to the deal. Along the way, Briggs stumbles upon stranded attractive and armed but desperate Olivia, who is on the run from her abusive husband Monte. Biggs also appears to be followed by Blue's husband Frank and a drunken gunfighter.
