Fans of gory horror movies take note!

The first hour of the film does not contain any horror element!

A strange kind of drama about a young girl who runs a hotel on her own at the end of WW2 and the guests who spy on and grope her.

There is a strange atmosphere comparable to "The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane" from a year earlier.

The horror cuts in quite a bit in the last half hour, because we actually think we are completely in a kind of seventies Italian art house film.

The bathtub scene belongs in the canon of magnificent horror scenes.

Actually only suitable for people who like both 1970s Italian art house and Italian horror...and there probably won't be that many.

The undersigned loved it all.

Starts as a serious drama of a mother and daughter who, at the end of the war, have to keep their heads above water with a boarding house full of half yarn. With beautiful images (boat) and a nice tune underneath. Then we slide almost unnoticed into an unadulterated giallo to end with a decent dot of horror. Also with a few nice twists in the last half hour. Nothing wrong with that right?

A bit pleasantly insane, that cabinet of curiosities with a serious undertone. We are not treated to much nudity, although Leonora Fani is a hottie with her small tits. Yes, that rape scene, they didn't have much trouble with that in the seventies. I've seen worse, by the way. A lot happens in this movie and I enjoyed it.
