"A story about life's strikeouts and home runs."
When an unstructured amateur baseball team has to play a seemingly insignificant game in the summer, the game turns out to mean more to the men on a personal level than they thought. For the team, the game is the transition from playing baseball together to building their own future. When their best player, John Mazetti, starts to have doubts about entering the game because he feels he should be playing professional baseball, the problems seem to only pile up. However, this match will prove to mean more than just another score on the scoreboard.
