L'Homme et l'Enfant plot

At the end of World War II, Fred is put in charge of the perfume factory of his battle comrade Carlo, whose life he saved. He has adopted Cathy, the latter's daughter. One day he is visited by an old man who tells him that he has taken Cathy with him and will take care of her in a secret place until he himself gets back his own granddaughter Hélène, who has been missing for some time. He claims that the factory is being used as a cover for illegal business practices.
