Buddenbrooks plot
Die Buddenbrooks is an adaptation of Thomas Mann's Nobel Prize-winning novel. Over three generations, we witness the success and fall of a merchant family from Lübeck, in northern Germany. In a society teetering on the brink of major changes, it seems that family values are also doomed to change. Personal desires that had to be repressed for the sake of the family cause now threaten to break the dynasty characterized by industriousness and hard work, and by faith and respect.
