In Le Temps des Secrets it is 1905 when the adolescent Marcel is admitted to the Thiers Lyceum in Marseille. Summer holidays are spent in the still undeveloped, paradise-like hinterland. The film explores the childhood of Provençal cultural icon Marcel Pagnol (1895-1974).
