Entertaining musical with a strikingly comical and visibly having fun Elvis. Very sweet and unobtrusive, but a blockbuster at the time. The songs in this above average movie are good.

Still quite an entertaining and especially cheerful Elvis Presley movie. The cliché story (just say 13 in a dozen story) is of course not much, but the environments, beautiful girls and nice songs compensate a lot. This film also contains some comical accents that make this film quite doable.

Fantastic. And then I'm talking about the location of the film; shot in Hawaii. You might expect that with such a title, but the original film by Bing Crosby was shot dryly in Hollywood.

For me, this is also the first Elvis film with a real camp factor, certainly more than GI Blues, which was also a lightweight comedy. The camp content is more present in this Blue Hawaii thanks to the mentioned scenery, the outfits, the Hawaiian arrangements. The music is the perfect ally of the images. This is one of the most relaxing soundtracks/records Elvis has ever released. It exudes lounge. It also includes one carelessly delivered classic: Can't Help Falling in Love.

The story is almost not worth it, but that is not so important in the overall picture of this musical. The actors do what they have to do and Elvis turns out to have a talent for comedy again. Too bad his acting career would paradoxically decline due to the success of this film. But it doesn't take away from the fun this movie exudes.
