In Clyde Beatty's traveling circus, suicidal maniac Dublin O'Malley, escaped from a mental institution, does his best to ruin the circus's show. And all because he is in love with Valerie, the wife of aerial acrobat Armond St. Denis. Because the police do not know who is behind the chaos in the circus, they enlist the assistance of crime writer Mickey Spillane. O'Malley almost manages to take out Spillane as well.
